Welcome to Konvert

My name is Scott Allen, CEO and creator of Konvert Ramps and the
Konvert Project. Being in the building and construction industry my
whole life, I have always had a passion and enormous interest in
different materials and a fascination of how they can be used in
different arrangements and used in alternate methods and
applications.
As you can see, with zero to offer in the looks department, I have
always relied heavily on my creativity.
A great interest in 3d drafting and a child like imagination has
always had my mind racing and sketchpad full.

Surfing and skating have always been my sports of choice from a young age. Getting older, travelling and surfing different oceans, the ever increasing amount of plastic apparent
became more and more worrying to me.

How did this all come about?
After another day building a house, watching yet another Dad, make yet another shitty plywood ramp, with his Son...
Like so many Dads and kids before. Noble efforts but inevitably relegated to the kerbside pickup within 6 months.

A flash at 2.35 am..
A light bulb moment saw me sit up straight in bed seeing it all pretty much clear in my head and the sketching and 3d work started...
Plastic...
I have always had a fascination for and at the same time a great loathing for, given its persistence when released and left in the environment. Seeing its enormous versatility, strength and recycle-ability, chose to employ it as the material of choice.
For close to a year now, our Industrial Design team have been working tirelessly to totally redesigned the idea of a skate ramp.

Using the feedback from V 1.0 destruction testing , the V 2.0 designs are nearing completion. The result?
Totally awesome.

Konverts Design Evolution
See here a collection of images from design to construction of hand made prototype units

900 and 600 ramps above, with connection surface at High Performance Surf Centre in Sydney owned by Matt Grainger. Head skate coach Gerard McCallum has been assisting with design and destruction testing calling the Konvert prototypes a great training tool for his school and at the same time heaps of fun for more advanced skaters.
The Konvert Universal Connector.
From initial sketches to our patented 3d printed product.
We have withheld images of The Konvert Universal Connector.
Being a pivotal component, we would prefer to keep it under wraps at the present time. Pictures show early iterations prior to the quantum leap in its design which delivers rapid, total, single tool assembly and even quicker disassembly.

New Industrial Design work
Stay tuned for our retail ready product range now in final stages of design.

The Konvert Terraform Underlay System.
Turn any lawn, gravelled area or beach into a solid skate arena.
(Well.. We've at least tried to think of everything).

The Konvert Lounge Cover.
We think the ramps look pretty cool but Mum probably wont.
Solution:
Shut her up and turn it into a day bed.
